In a secret corner of Firenze's Santa Maria Novella Piazza, known for its basilica and world-famous fragrance maker, JK Place occupies a humble frontage for its 20-room boutique hotel considered one of the chicest in the city. A charming breakfast room offers a home-like setting with period antiques and rustic lantern lighting for morning farm-to-table breakfasts. Later in the day, JK Lounge offers a clubhouse Italiano menu of panini and salads with hidden rarely-used lounge that is open to the public with its Fellini meets Saarinen décor. <br />
The Room
From the doubled mirrored doors that conceal the cozy elevator that connects the 20-or-so guests room of the JK Place, visitors enter a series of classic to suite-level accommodation located off arched hallways or an interior atrium. Entry-level room can make even the pickiest travelers happy with 15-foot ceilings that enwrap four-poster beds in front of walls strewn wit Roman-era sketching and mix of ebonized furnished that pops with chrome pulls or retro table lamp. Junior suites are bi-level spaces with parquet wood floors with 5-person sofa slip-covered in white with chocolate piping. Marble bathrooms arranged in chunky white porcelain fixtures with oversize chrome towel warmers come with a hefty arrangement of Santa Maria Novella toiletries you barely want to use so you can take home. Top-of-the-line penthouse and Master Room are two-level spaces lined in floor0to-ceiling windows from living to bathroom with rooftop garden overlooking the Duomo.
